Olympics, Native-style: Alaska Natives hold competition with events such as knuckle hop and ear pull

Gina Kalloch, chair of the WEIO board of governors, said Thursday that the event’s turnout this year has been better than anticipated, given the pandemic. Typically, the event draws about 400 athletes, dance groups and artisans selling crafts, and as many as 2,500 spectators for more-popular events such as a high-kick competition.
