Coldplay to half CO2 emissions in next world tour

Coldplay has announced a range of environmentally friendly initiatives on their upcoming world tour.

The band has pledged to cut CO2 emissions by 50 per cent and to almost exclusively use renewable energy to power their show.

A kinetic floor will be installed, which will harness energy from fans, and solar panels will be placed throughout the stadium.

Fans who commit to low-carbon travel via an app will receive discounts at the venues.

The tour route has reportedly been designed to minimise flights as the 30-date tour begins in Costa Rica on March 18 next year.
